The Heart of Children’s Ministry

A Letter from Karen

YOU ARE THE SHEPHERD TO THE CHILDREN

We believe and pray that this will be a journey of discovering your gifts and talents as well as entrenching in a caring family that is there to train and equip you. To help you up when you fall and cheer you on as you grow to be the best version of you, that you can be!

To us, the KIDS ministry is not a place where you help out or fill a gap, but a place where you make an eternal impact. A community in which you live out your calling. We come alongside parents to shape the worldview of each child to an understanding of God’s plan for their lives. In doing this we are setting them up for success as they become City Changers who are impacting their families, schools and communities with the Good News of the Gospel!  My prayer for you is first of all, that you will discover who you are in Christ, so that you are able to impart that revelation to our children. And that you will secondly live out that discovery and a calling as you minister to our children.

D.L. Moody says: “The Bible was not given for our information but for our transformation.”

So, if you “get-it” the children will too!

Enjoy your journey!

Faithfully yours,

Karen Massyn

The phrase "God meets us at our level of expectation" encapsulates a theme emphasized by A.W. Tozer, a renowned Christian pastor and theologian. While this exact wording isn't directly found in his writings, Tozer often highlighted the relationship between faith, expectation, and our experience of God. In his work, The Pursuit of God, Tozer reflects on why some individuals experience a deeper manifestation of God's presence than others suggesting that the difference lies not with God but with us, this implies that our level of spiritual receptivity and expectation influences our experience of Him.

Additionally, Tozer stated, "True faith is never found alone; it is always accompanied by expectation. The man who believes the promises of God expects to see them fulfilled." This underscores the idea that genuine faith inherently involves anticipating God's active involvement in our lives.

My question to you then in starting this journey would be: "If God meets us at our level of expectation, what do you expect?"
